NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 23, 2004--The New York Times Magazine announced today that its upcoming debut issue of "T: Women's Fashion" has a total of 167 advertising pages, a 29% increase over its "Part 2-Women's Fashions of the Times" predecessor publication for the same year-ago period. This ad paging performance is the highest of any of The Magazine's previous "Part 2-Women's Fashions of the Times" publications since 1985. "T: Women's Fashion" will be published on Sunday, August 29 and will feature actor Kate Winslet on the cover.

New advertisers in the debut issue of "T: Women's Fashion" include ABC Carpet & Home, Adidas, Bally, Blumarine, Bulgari, Caribbean Joe, Carolyn Taylor, Ellen Tracy, Faraone Mennella, Focus Features, Grand Marnier, Hickey Freeman, Jildor Shoes, John Varvatos, Kenneth Cole, Levi's, Lincoln Mercury, L'Oreal, Max Studio.com, Merrell, Movado, Supima, RAND Diamonds, Robert Lee Morris, Pologeorgis Furs, Pomellato, Tahari, 2(x)ist and Ugg.
"T: The New York Times Style Magazine" is a new collection of magazines that will showcase stylish living today and feature the latest trends in men's and women's fashion, design and entertaining. "T" will be published eight times per year as a complement to The New York Times Magazine and replaces The Magazine's "Part 2" publications. Journalists contributing to the pages of "T" include Suzy Menkes on fashion, Lynn Hirschberg on celebrity styles, Tyler Brule on design and Amanda Hesser on food and living, among others.
As part of a bonus distribution program 13,000 additional copies of "T: Women's Fashion" will be distributed during Broadway Night (August 29) in the Republican Convention Delegate Welcome Kit, to the retail trade, at the "T: Women's Fashion" kick-off party, during Olympus Fashion Week (Sept. 8-15), on the Hampton Jitney and as part of a consumer sampling promotion.
"T" will be comprised of a family of four magazines, each published twice per year, that include:
- "T: Women's Fashion" will be published on Aug. 29 and will sort and select the hottest new signature pieces and trends in women's fashion. "T: Women's Fashion" replaces The Magazine's "Part 2-Women's Fashions of The Times" publication.
- "T: Men's Fashion" will be published on Sept. 19 and will offer a tailored round up of the best looks, trends and personalities in men's fashion. "T: Men's Fashion" replaces The Magazine's "Part 2-Men's Fashions of The Times" publication.
- "T: Design" will reveal how and where the lines in home design now cross and diverge in architecture, decor and home furnishings. "T: Design" will be published on Oct. 10 and replaces The Magazine's "Part 2-Home Design" publication.
- "T: Living" will feature lifestyle and entertaining trends and report on the latest in food, wine, tabletop, kitchens, bathrooms and more. "T: Living," edited by Amanda Hesser, will be published on Nov. 7 and replaces The Magazine's "Part 2-Style & Entertaining" publication.
Beginning in 2005 "The Sophisticated Traveler" will join the "T" magazine collection and will continue to report on exotic travel destinations around the world.
Each issue of "T" will contain insightful feature articles, compelling photography and news columns such as:
- "The Talk" - a commentary on the latest jargon being used in the English language, what it means and why it is relevant to our daily lives.
- "The Get" - a portfolio collection of the hottest new products to purchase, wear or collect.
- "The Re-Mix" - a series of short, fun and lively articles that capture the questions posed and thinking behind the choices we make in our daily lives.
Each cover of "T" will be shot by award-winning photographers to convey its vision and essence in a creative and exciting manner. Photographer Raymond Meier will shoot the cover photography for all "T" 2004 debut issues.
